Fifteen Israeli companies presented their businesses
to selected VCs and other investors at our 4th
Annual Trendlines/WolfBlock Venture Conference on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 4TH ANNUAL TRENDLINES/WOLFBLOCK
VENTURE CONFERENCE
On November 28th, 15 Israeli companies converged on the WolfBlock offices in
the heart of beautiful downtown Philadelphia to pitch their opportunities to
70 American investors. Thanks to the hard work of the WolfBlock and Trendlines
teams, the day unfolded without a hitch and here are some of the highlights:
We
broke with tradition and allowed the first panel of the morning to quickly
break out into intimate, small-group discussions between the investors and
the Israeli companies. It was a great opportunity for the companies to get
feedback and insights from highly experienced investors.
I was very proud of how the entrepreneurs engagingly prevailed over the daunting task of encapsulating
their company's opportunity into a 60-second elevator
pitch. In the spirit
of cooperation that pervaded the entire conference, I even overheard one
CEO offering 10 seconds of his time to another who was very concerned that
60 seconds wouldn't be enough!
A number of the investors went out of their way to comment
on the excellent quality of the 15-minute presentations. Both presentation rooms (Life Sciences in one, Technology
in the other) were standing-room only and the few minutes of Q&A after
each presentation were very lively and challenging.
I know
that the Israeli companies are busy following up on the contacts that were
made at the conference, and we're looking forward to hearing about deals
that will be closed.
