The Magdent healing cap for more successful dental implant procedures is marketed in 22 countries worldwide.
Magdent’s novel technology utilizes electromagnetic fields to stimulate, accelerate, and improve bone formation and quality for shorter, more successful dental implant procedures and suppresses bone infections, making it the only treatment in cases of peri-implantitis and peri-implant mucositis.
Magdent first product, Miniaturized Electromagnetic Device (MED), is small enough to fit most dental implants. MED is easily screwed into the implant and removed at the end of the treatment period using regular protocols.
Magdent’s MED incorporates a battery, microelectronics, and a coil. It fits most implant models in much the same way as today’s simple healing cap. The MED technology actively stimulates, accelerates and improves osseogenesis (bone formation) and osseointegration, resulting in shorter, more successful dental implant placement.
The Magdent device suits candidates who may otherwise not be considered for implants: older people with decreased bone density, diabetics, and patients with bone diseases (osteoporosis, metabolic diseases of the bone), and smokers.
The Company is currently developing solutions for orthopedics based on its unique technology.
Magdent offers key advantages for dentists and patients.

Dental implants are driving a significant of development to meet growing patient demand. Comprised of a screw implanted in the bone, an abutment that fits into the screw, and a crown, the total process is performed in stages, typically with a break of three to six months between the stages to allow the bone to heal and grow around the implant (osseointegration). In addition, the rate of implant failure is significantly higher in patients with poor bone quality (~20%) or insufficient bone (~30%). Reduced bone quality is typically more acute in older patients, the population with the greatest need for implants, and is seen very often in cases of diabetes, osteoporosis, heavy smokers, and others.
The global dental implant market is $4.2 billion that consists of 10 million implants per year. The market has a growth rate of 6% a year. The orthopedics field Magdent is entering is estimated at $41 billion annually.
