Market Need
Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are the two most common IBD chronic conditionsm affecting some 7 million patients, with repeated periods of relapse and remission.
IBD is a life-long chronic condition that is usually diagnosed under the age of 35 and can only be treated, not cured. Many patients relapse yearly, and most patients cycle into relapse, leading to debilitating effects on quality of life and increased risk of disease progression.
Regularly and accurately monitoring for early signs of bowel inflammation is vital to optimize treatment, yet patient compliance with current monitoring options is very low due to their unpleasant and complicated manner of use for the home user.
